You can use the following keyboard shortcuts while composing a track.

Press to start or stop playback.

commandcontrol key

Hold down the commandcontrol key while drawing notes to create "loud" notes.

optionalt key

Hold down the optionalt key while drawing notes to create "soft" notes.

shift

Advanced

Playback starting point

By default, playback always starts from the beginning of a track. This can be difficult if you want to focus your attention on a piece in the middle, or near the end.

You can change where playback begins by setting the playback start marker. You can do this by clicking white area just above the grid. A blue arrow icon will be placed where you click. Playback will now start from this point.

Clicking on the arrow icon again will remove it.

Column volume

There is a speaker icon to the left of each row on the grid.

Click this icon once and you can control the volume of that row.

Double click this icon and you can mute or unmute the row.

Hi beatlab! I'm working on a new track called "Come Together" and I want to see what you can do with it.

I've uploaded the vocals. Now I need you to fill in a beat and post it on this page. Click the "remix" button below to get started. The original key is C minor.

Rearrange the vocals. Upload your own sounds. Do whatever you want with it. I'm going to come by beatlab on August 26th and give feedback to the highest rated remixes. I can't wait to hear what you guys come up with.

Feel free to work together. Beatlab is all about sharing and collaborating. However, if you are using a sound or a beat that someone else has made, make sure that you have the rights to do so and that you give that person credit.

If you are new to beatlab, this tutorial will help you get started:

What's next?

If you like collaborating with me, I'd appreciate your vote in the DJ Mag Top 100. Vote now.

Keep up with me on Facebook and Twitter!

Update

I'll be online August 26 at 11am pacific time and 2pm eastern time to give my feedback!

Hey Germanis, The sound that you're using is very interesting. I love the idea that you've embraced the challenging by taking the vocal and doing something fresh and different with it. Though it needs to be more melodic, change the drums a bit. Hats off mate

I like that you've taken a melodic approach, and for a 15 year old kid I'm very impressed. nice style

I don't think being 15 has anything to do with how impressive it is. If he was 30 years old I would still think this is impressive.

I'd like to see you capture the spirit of the song more. A bit too downtempo for my liking, though its still an interesting interpretation of my song. Cheers

I like the big chords, that's fresh. Like the start, but the song misses the moment where instead of goin full on it went to a break

This one's a bit too predictable and needs to be a bit more creative. Try and be more original and not follow trends. Do what you really feel.

I thought this would be a nice way to start off this track... I like the way this track starts off, and I hope you all like it too.

I have merely put things in places where I'd like them to be.
